Nursing Attributes and Competency Uplifted in Thai Healthcare System in the Post-pandemic Era
Abstract
COVID-19 is still a global outbreak, and the country's effective management is quite essential. The Nursing Division has concerned about competent nursing management during the pandemic. Consequently, we established the nurse collaboration center (NCC) in the COVID-19 outbreak to formulate policy, direction, and collaboration among nurses as a country agency. The nurse collaboration center has been working through the chief nursing officers (CNOs) committee, which consisted of CNOs from regional and central sectors.
The four phrases of driving the nurse collaboration center:
- 1-2 months of the beginning outbreak
- 3-5 months after the outbreak
- 6-10 months after the outbreak
- 11-12 months after the outbreak
The implementation of NCC revealed three major impacts on the nursing profession and population:
- Policy formulation and direction of the nursing service management
- Notable supervision, monitoring, and collaboration mechanism system
- Various nursing knowledge and technology development and dissemination
In
addition, policy recommendations were proposed to the Ministry of Public Health
and the Nursing Organizations to prepare better and establish and manage "new
normal" nursing service delivery in the next wave of COVID-19 outbreak.
